Short Biography
Stéphanie Sayen is Full Professor at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne where she conducts research in the Molecular Chemistry Institute of Reims (ICMR UMR URCA-CNRS 7312). She received her PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Lorraine in 2003.
She is head of the research axis ‘Environmental chemistry’ of the research unit ICMR UMR URCA/CNRS 7312, and is director of the CNRS-supported Argonne Long Term for Socio-Ecological Research (LTSER) ZARG gathering more than 100 researchers from 18 laboratories of 6 universities.
Research Interests & Expertise
She studies, using a multi-scale approach, the behaviour of organic and inorganic contaminants in environmental matrices (soil, sediment, biosolid, organic waste, water), more specifically their speciation and sorption at solid/liquid interfaces, and more recently their plant uptake. Sorption for remediation purpose (biochar, biowaste) is also under consideration.
